SEWER
The Village of Twin Lakes Sewer Department urges residents to refrain from flushing anything other than toilet paper. If you’re using items other than toilet paper, please dispose of them in the garbage instead of flushing them down your toilet.
Additionally, it’s essential to consider the potential for sewer blockages. The lateral piping from your home to the sewer main in the road is your responsibility as a property owner. The Village of Twin Lakes owns the sewer main. While the Sewer Department will address blockages in the street sewer main, it’s often caused by residents flushing disinfectant wipes, feminine hygiene products, facial tissues, paper towels, diapers, and similar items. Blockages in the sewer main can result in sewage backups affecting numerous homes. By complying with this request, you’re not only helping yourself but also your fellow homeowners and the sewer department.
Thank you,
Village of Twin Lakes Sewer Department
